This weekend you’ll have four chances to catch Jazz guitar genius Stanley Jordan at the Blue Wisp Jazz Club. The six-string wizard plays the club Friday and Saturday, with two shows each night. You may want to catch his intimate performance more than once ...

Jordan is not only musically captivating, but his mastery and innovation in the “tapping” style of playing — where the guitarist uses both hands up and down the neck, tapping out notes and chords and often creating the sound and rhythm of a mini-ensemble all on their own — is a sight to behold.

Jordan is also a great song interpreter, crafting new, captivating arrangements for everything from Jazz standards to Blues chestnuts to Pop songs by Michael Jackson and The Beatles. Though Jordan tours and records with groups, his Blue Wisp shows will be just Jordan and his magical guitar work. You should probably buy a ticket sooner than later; there’s a great chance all four shows will sell out.

7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. $20. 700 Race St., Downtown, 513-241-9477, thebluewisp.com
