For a series about outlaw street racers and the undercover cops who chase and then team up with them, Fast & Furious, under the guidance of Justin Lin (who has been at the helm since the Tokyo Drift installment), has souped up each model with enough turbo and nitro to leave every other aging franchise in the dust.
Fast 5, which introduced Dwayne Johnson into the fold as a tough, no-nonsense FBI tracker, took pole position and now Furious 6 ratchets up the stakes by bringing a former crew member (Michelle Rodriguez’s Letty) back from the dead, while teasing audiences with a sequel to end all sequels, as the rubber meets road. Fasten those seatbelts! Now in theaters. (PG-13) Review not available before opening day
