Event: Earth Day

By Maija Zummo · April 17th, 2013 · CityBeat Recommends

Celebrate the 43rd Earth Day at Sawyer Point with this year’s theme: “One Earth … One Chance.” This day of education and stewardship will also provide hours of family-friendly entertainment with hands-on displays from environmental groups, a rock-climbing wall, kayak safety lessons, story telling, a recycled materials fashion show, live bands, a Planet Protector Parade and possibly a petting zoo.

The day starts at noon with a Miami Valley Council for Native Americans drum circle and continues with games, scavenger hunts and plays followed by live music by Wild Carrot, Hickory Robot, Magnolia Mountain and a variety of lectures on composting and sustainability from Marvin’s Organic Gardens, Rumpke, Hamilton County and more.

Noon-5 p.m.

Free. Sawyer Point, 705 E. Pete Rose Way, Downtown, cincinnatiearthday.com
