Apparently “The Sillies” are not only a Detroit Punk
Rock band formed in the ’70s that no one knows about. It seems that “The
Sillies” are also little creatures that live inside of us and need to
be shaken out through laughter. If finding out that there are happy,
silly creatures inside of you that are dying to get out frightens you, Yo Gabba Gabba
is your go-to show.
Now in its fourth season on Nick Jr., the
television show ranks as one of the most popular series on TV and
appeals to preschoolers, parents, teens and adults. Yo Gabba Gabba
infuses retro-style and beat-driven music to teach simple life lessons
through a cast of colorful characters. The state-of-the-art production
always features a celebrity guest; this time, catch Hip Hop legend Biz
Markie on stage (although don’t expect him to whip out a performance of
“Just a Friend” for the kids). Performances at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10.
$26-$46. Aronoff Center for the Arts, 650 Walnut St., Downtown. 513-621-2787, cincinnatiarts.org.
