After five formative years with the group, the guitarist and bassist Jack Casady took their Airplane side project Hot Tuna fulltime and enjoyed a stellar run (that actually continues to this day). Kaukonen has explored Americana Roots music in his acclaimed solo work and he’s leaving his mark on a new generation of guitarists via his popular Fur Peace Ranch Guitar Camp in Southeastern Ohio. Fellow San Francisco Rock guitar legend Steve Kimock moved to the Bay Area in the mid-’70s and played in a variety of groups, influencing fellow players with his trademark style — marked by a smooth, jazzy, psychedelic fluidity — which some compared to Jerry Garcia. Along with his own solo and band projects, Kimock has performed with various Dead members over the years, including the post-Jerry group The Other Ones and a few of Phil Lesh’s projects. 8 p.m. Sunday. Nov. 18. $20-$30. 20th Century Theatre, 3021 Madison Road, Oakley. the20thcenturytheater.com, ticketweb.com.
