Though his style has constantly changed and evolved over the years (Bluegrass, Jazz, Acoustic, Folk, Rock — you name it, he’s played it) Williams’ 17th studio album, Bass, explores a genre left untouched by his previous efforts — Reggae and Funk. Even with this entry into unknown musical territory, one thing has stayed the same in Williams’ ever-changing sound: his smooth vocals and sharp songwriting. So, if you’re a “Freeker by the Speaker” or just want to know what the Dave Matthews Band would sound like if they were just one, ultra talented not annoying guy, put a “Doobie in Your Pocket” and head down to the 20th Century Theatre (3021 Madison Road, Oakley) Thursday, Oct. 18 at 9 p.m. to have your mind blown by Kdub and his eclectic set. Tickets are $25 day of show or $20 in advance through ticketmaster.com. the20thcenturytheatre.com.
