With all of the current redevelopment in Over-the-Rhine, it’s easy to forget about the efforts of organizations like Over-the-Rhine Community Housing (OTRCH) which has been working in the area for decades. Founded in 1988, OTRCH has been renovating historic buildings to create affordable housing in an effort to promote the area as an inclusive community for people of all income levels — something likely jeopardized by all of that recent (wonderful) development.

The organization’s sixth annual fall fundraiser “Celebrating Our Beloved Community” takes place this Thursday in Music Hall’s Corbett Tower, featuring storyteller Omope Carter Daboiku and videographer Barb Wolf. Both artists have a long-standing connection to the area and empower people to share and record stories about their beloved community. Sounds like a perfect fit for an organization like OTRCH. 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18. Music Hall, 1225 Elm St., Over-the-Rhine.
