Like most comedians, Tony Woods had many day jobs before becoming a full-time stand-up. “I used to be one of those people who would sit around the house all day, smoke weed, watch TV and go ‘I could do that,’” he tells an audience. One such job was security guard. Woods’ first assignment was at a bank where he was armed with only a Billy club
. “They said ‘the stick is solid oak.’ I said ‘who you ever seen rob a bank with a baseball bat?’ A stick ain’t s*** when you have a nine.” The assignment was easy. So much so, that Wood decided to imbibe in some herbage he found in his jacket pocket on his lunch break. “I got back in the bank, and I was more cautious. ‘Hold up — let me frisk you. Go to the window, and get out.’” Through Sunday, Sept. 30. $8-$14. Go Bananas, Montgomery. 513-984-9288, gobananascomedy.com.
