Can’t wait for Thursday to rock out at MidPoint Music Festival? Good news — you don’t have to. Kick off the 11th year of MPMF with DJ Ice Cold Tony and 500 Miles to Memphis on Wednesday night. DJ Ice Cold Tony will be playing MPMF mash-ups from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., followed by a live performance by 500 Miles to Memphis at 9 p.m. Along with a free show, guests can enjoy free vitaminwater and Eli’s BBQ while they last.

One lucky attendee will walk away with VIP tickets to The Afghan Whigs New Year’s Eve concert at Bogart’s. The MPMF preview party will take place at the space behind The Hanke Building on Main Street and Michael Bany Way in Over-the-Rhine. It’s free and open to ages 21 and older. This is only the beginning of a music-filled weekend, though. MPMF will continue taking over the streets and bars of Cincinnati through Saturday night. About 180 acts tackle more than 18 stages, including Washington Park, Emery Theatre, MOTR Pub, the Cincinnati Club and the Contemporary Arts Center. Headliners include Andrew Bird, Grizzly Bear, Freelance Whales, Best Coast and many more. Three-day music festival passes are still for sale. mpmf.com. — STEFANIE KREMER
