If you’ve ever harbored the secret thought of taking an art class, and why not? It could open a new world. Stop by the Art Academy of Cincinnati to see the Pearlman Gallery exhibition of Community Education Faculty works. These artists/teachers work in media across the board: Elizabeth Neal creates small wonders in ink and colored pencil; painter Ken Landon Buck presents a smashing girl swimmer emerging from a dive; Joseph Gorey with pencil, pens and marker shows us what would happen if cats ran a bar for cats; Thommy Long’s prints make tongue-in-cheek comments on logos and more; Lisa Britton shows delicate color photographs of flowers; Steve Meek’s prints comment on both Hedy Lamar and James Bond; Richard Fruth makes sly sculptural comments with poplar and bronze; and there’s more.

Free. Through July 13. Art Academy of Cincinnati, 1212 Jackson St., Over-the-Rhine. 513-562-6262 for hours.
