As I was making the rather mind-numbing drive down I-71 during a recent trip back from Cleveland, I was thinking about the profound impact growing up in Northeastern Ohio has had on my identity. Though I’ve lived in the area for nearly a decade, the transition to Cincinnatian is an ongoing process. I’m still an Indians fan and I don’t like “chili,” but when folks ask me where I’m from, I say Cincinnati with prideRe-Rooted. Curated by Missy Miller, this exciting new group show features more than 20 local, regional and national artists whose works explore the relationship between identity, community and place. How do we construct our sense of home? Artists of all mediums have been invited to present pieces that investigate this process. Through Aug. 2.
