Hermes might be the only one with winged sandals, but Cincinnati is the only place with flying pigs. It’s that time of year again — throw on your Asics and head downtown for the Flying Pig Marathon. Festivities kick off on Friday afternoon with the P&G Health & Fitness Expo; check out all the sponsors and vendors and, if you’re racing, pick up your events packet
. Saturday starts bright and early as the youngsters take the spotlight during the Flying Pig Kids’ Marathon and the Flying Piglets Kids’ Fun Run. A pasta dinner on Fountain Square will ensure plenty of energy for Sunday’s main event. The wheelchair race begins at 6:25 a.m. followed promptly by the full and half marathons and the four-person relay. The weekend culminates in a five-hour fiesta — we’ll call it “Seis de Mayo” — at Yeatman’s Cove. For more information, visit www.flyingpigmarathon.com.
