Remember when Captain Planet said, “The power is yours!”? Now that the cheesy 1990s cartoon phrase is over we can get down to business. Building Value is a nonprofit reuse enterprise that specializes in building materials. The materials, some donated and others salvaged from the landfill, are resold to the public. Building Value also provides transitional employment to people with disadvantages and disabilities. To celebrate Cincinnati and environmental consciousness, Building Value is throwing their third annual ReUse-apalooza. The event is a night to focus on the reuse of materials and sustainability within the community that includes music from Messerly and Ewing, a silent auction featuring projects made from Building Value materials and more eclectic entertainment. There will be a free after-party at Northside Tavern. $20 general admission, $50 VIP. 7-11 p.m. 4040 Spring Grove Ave., Northside. 513-475-6783, buildingvalue.org.
