If you’re into going out to bars and drinking, Thanksgiving Eve is probably one of your favorite holidays. This year, as usual, there are also a ton of high-quality options if you want a little live music as a chaser. Downtown’s Mainstay Rock Bar (301 West Fifth St.) is celebrating the “Busiest Bar Day of the Year” (as we’ve been told repeatedly for the past decade or two) by presenting a pair of rootsy, rockin’ local groups. Josh Eagle just won a Cincinnati Entertainment Award for “Singer/Songwriter,” so he’ll probably be in especially high spirits when he and his band, The Harvest City, headline the 10 p.m.

show. (Eagle and Co. are also showing their thankful spirit by offering a great deal — pay what you want — for downloads of their first two albums here.) Opening up is the new project from the former frontman of The Stapletons and Cash Flag dubbed Jody Stapleton and the Generals, which debuted just a few months ago. Attendees are being asked to bring a canned good for the Freestore Foodbank, which will make you eligible for raffle prizes such as local restaurant gift certificates and a turkey for your Turkey Day feast. (Pete Dressman and his band will still hosts their every-Wednesday open-mic night on the club’s second stage.) Admission is $5.
