This week the excitement and energy of Final Friday on Main Street in Over-the-Rhine is likely to be amplified by the upcoming holiday. Expect to see a grave assortment of PBR-drinking witches, warlocks and vampires skulking about the neighborhood, and you might spot a few people dressed up for Halloween. While you’re enjoying the reverie, be sure to stop by new exhibitions at 1305 Gallery and Static Age and catch up with Elsa Lang’s work at YES. At 1305, Ruth Wartman presents Land, a series of paintings and drawings that embody what owner Lily Mulberry calls a “lovely sadness,” from 6-11 p.m. Just down the street, Static Age gets into the spirit of things at 8 p.m. with Creepsylvania, a fearful collaborative event featuring works by Southpaw Prints, Ava Roberts, Caroline Caldwell and many more. Costumes are encouraged. Finally, if you missed it last month now is your opportunity to have a look at Elsa Lang’s The Forest Floor: An Assortment of Stitched Specimens at YES. Inspired by sojourns into the woods of the Pacific Northwest, the artist’s collection of embroidered leaves, feathers and assorted fungi are as delightful as they are delicate. Yes is open until 10 p.m. Friday.
