Over-the-Rhine has undergone an amazing transformation in recent years, having reawakened as one of Cincinnati’s most culturally and historically vibrant neighborhoods. The roots of this transformation can be found within the ranks of the city’s own residents and entrepreneurs, and this Thursday the Emanuel Community Center will honor five such outstanding women whose contributions to Over-the-Rhine have had a positive impact on its growing community
. The seventh annual Women of Over-the-Rhine Stories of Success Awards honorees for this year will include Symphony Hotel and Restaurant President Karen Blatt, Artworks Director Tamara Harkavy, ArtsWave President and CEO Mary McCullough-Hudson, Bad Girl Ventures founder Candace Klein and Boost owner Jenny White. Each woman represents a unique and innovative business venture, from a micro-lending organization aimed at women entrepreneurs to a group that fosters the development of the arts programs for people of all ages. Festivities will be held in the form of a luncheon at The Phoenix (812 Race St., Downtown); seats are $37. The luncheon has become a sell-out event in recent years, so reserve yourself a spot as soon as possible.
