“It’s one of those things where you’re looking at your schedule and you’re happy to see it,” comedian Greg Hahn says of Cincinnati and Go Bananas Comedy Club. “It’s a really intimate club. It’s like a party in someone’s basement with best friends that you’ve never met. And I like to go bananas on stage so it has a nice effect.” Many of those friends know Hahn from The Bob & Tom radio show, where he is a frequent guest.

Knocking about the Midwest is nothing new for the now Los Angeles-based comic. “When you start out in stand-up, you’re not genius funny,” he says. “So I came up with these weird jobs like stuntman in the Wild, Wild, West Show at Universal Studios, and MC of a lumberjack show at an amusement park.” In between, Hahn would hit the road and tell jokes. “When you start out in comedy you basically ruin two cars driving all over the East Coast and Midwest,” he says. Hahn eventually headed to New York where he appeared on Comedy Central, as well as Late Night With Conan O’Brien. “Then I moved out to Los Angeles to make it huge,” he says. “Now I’m flying back to Cincinnati to make a living, but that’s OK.” Hahn performs Thursday-Sunday at Go Bananas in Montgomery.
