New York City flaunts the Brooklyn Bridge. San Francisco brags about its Golden Gate. But did you know that the Cincinnati waterfront is also home to a historic piece of suspended engineering? This Saturday, RoeblingFest will bring together people from both sides of the Ohio River to celebrate the history of the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge, as well as the community and pride that are intertwined with this beautiful Covington landmark. The festival will feature food from local restaurants, beverage booths, live music (including Chocolate Horse, The Dukes, Lions Rampant and more), carriage rides, the Covington Quest scavenger hunt and an art show and sale featuring the work of regional artists.
Impersonators, artifacts and pictures will describe the history of the bridge and the surrounding area, while face painting, games, circus entertainers and more will be provided to keep the kids entertained. A variety of tours will also be offered which will allow the curious to explore the Roebling Bridge, the Covington floodwall murals, the Daniel Carter Beard House and more. BB Riverboats will depart at 3 p.m. At the end of the night, the food and fun will be topped off by a dazzling display of Rozzi fireworks! Historical tours are $5, and riverboat tours are $15 for adults, $13.50 for seniors and $9 for children. The festival runs from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Park Avenue and Court Street in Covington.
