For over 30 years, the Taste of Cincinnati has been filling bellies, supplying music and providing hangovers to locals and tourists alike every Memorial Day weekend. What started out as equivalent to an oversized frat party is now 100 times larger and alive, literally. From 5,000 attendees the first year to an expected 500,000 this year, even Charlie Sheen would have trouble partaking in this fiesta all weekend long. Boycott the McDonald's drive-thru and treat your taste buds to something worth spending your hard earned cash on.
The Taste spotlights 40 local restaurants, from The Melting Pot to Bangkok Bistro, serving over 100 mouthwatering dishes, from appetizers to desserts.
The Best Damn Dish 2011 is the prime rib cannelloni from Bella Luna, and you can wash it down at the wine/beer booths. Unbutton your fly and prepare to turn into a gluttonous food-eating machine. Live music, comedy and other entertainment will be scattered throughout the event, including the mistress of mixing, Miss Molly Wellman. In the midst of stuffing your face and soaking up all the tasty goodness that will surround you, be sure to stop by and see us at the CityBeat booth. We will have the Framester gods taking their infamous photos from noon-8 p.m. and everyone will be able to register to win a pair of tickets to Fringe Festival, MidPoint Music Festival and Bonnaroo. The Taste runs downtown noon-midnight Saturday-Sunday and noon-9 p.m. Monday on six blocks of Fifth Street, from Race to Broadway.
