Events: Spring Swap Hop

By Emily Keough · May 17th, 2011 · CityBeat Recommends

Out with the old, in with the newish! If you haven't already started rotating your closet to make room for fresh seasonal duds, you're going to want to get on that. Rummage through your drawers Saturday and bring your unwanted garb with you to The Mockbee (2260 Central Pkwy., Brighton) for an evening of clothes bartering. U-turn Art Space and Northside's Chicken Lays an Egg are offering folks the chance to mingle and exchange gently used items for new-to-you treasures.

The Spring Swap Hop is looking for any wearable and washed items that no longer suit you, including accessories and shoes. For a $5 entry fee you'll be able to perfect and practice your sustainable swapping skills. Clothing drop-off begins at 1 p.m., but if you're extra antsy about clearing the retail space in your home, you can bring your goods to U-turn (2159 Central Ave., Brighton) from noon-4 p.m. Come sporting your reusable totes and enjoy some awesome beats from DJ Kenneth Wright, starting at 5 p.m. Go here for more information.
