We’re down to Paavo Jarvi’s last two weekends with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and following this Saturday night’s performance, the CSO presents its eighth annual Gay Pride event, dubbed “Out on the Town.” The LGBT community, along with friends and supporters, are invited to the after-party in Music Hall’s Grand Foyer.
The Maestro will be in attendance for his penultimate weekend, along with clarinet soloist Martin Frost, who performs Copland’s Clarinet Concerto as part of an all-American concert that also features music by Bernstein, Ives and Varése, plus the premiere of Charles Coleman’s “PJ Fanfare,” commissioned by the CSO to commemorate Jarvi’s 10th anniversary with the orchestra. Singer/songwriter Cybele provides the entertainment and the refreshments are complimentary. Tickets, which include party entry, are $50 ($20 for students).
