If you missed out on the last five weekends of ArtsWave activities, consider yourself lucky that they’re throwing one more shabang Saturday. With over 47 varieties of free events celebrating the creative arts, you’ve got no excuse to be lounging on the couch. Forget your spring cleaning (if you happen to be one of “those” people) and embrace the opportunity for your family, friends and community members to meet-n-greet while experiencing the local flavor of dance, music, festivals, museums and theater.
From 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Greenwich House Gallery (2124 Madison Road) will be hosting a diverse assortment of artwork fashioned by locals. They’ll also be offering an insight on the creative process as the pros shell out demonstrations of various techniques and methods. Intrigued? Visit www.thegreenwichhousegallery.com to see what else they’re offering up. Ever wonder how the heck those two to six story murals get developed around the city? Wonder no more because Artworks (20 E. Central Parkway) is presenting a walking tour of their MuralWorks from noon-1 p.m. Once you finish your tour, you’re encouraged to spend time with silhouette artist Pattie Purnell. From noon-2 p.m. she’ll produce a hand-cut silhouette of your profile that you can place on the mantel for generations to cherish.
