To heighten awareness of environmentalism as Earth Day approaches on April 22,the popular EcoSculptevent has returned to Fountain Square, sponsored byGreater Cincinnati EnergyAlliance and Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation. A three-week installation of colorful, lively sculptures made of recycled and/or recyclable materials, it is on display now through April 28.
There are 12 sculptures by local artists, with titles like "Oraface," "Hope and Life," "YouThrew Away My Lesser Parts" and "Green Towers of Circuit Cincinnati." Prizes of $500, $250, $150 — plusa People’s Choice Award of $100 — will be awarded at noon on Earth Day at Fountain Square. Also, organizations will offer free information about eco-friendly products and services and have exhibits.
