Sick and tired of the lame, creatively challenged cinematic offerings currently crowding the multiplex? Head over to Cincinnati World Cinema's most popular event, the annual Oscar Shorts & More, which takes over The Madison Theater in Covington Wednesday and Sunday.

The films are presented in two different programs (“A” and “B"), each of which features five nominated films (including one Oscar-winning effort) and a bonus short of “comparable caliber.” And, as yet another bonus “treat,” CWC kicks off each program with “some unusual and hilarious commercials from around the world.”

Cincinnati World Cinema presents its annual screening featuring the Oscar-nominated shorts from 2010 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday and 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday at The Madison Theater in Covington. Go here to read Jason Gargano's full Opening Film blog.
