There are a few things you’ll need to bring with you this weekend to have a good time at the Duke Energy Convention Center — thirst, a rather large bladder and a taste for excellence. Dubbed “The Best Party of the Winter,” Cincy Beerfest returns for its fourth consecutive year of celebrating Greater Cincinnati’s expanding home and professional brewing community. Check your coat and head to the door at 7:30 p.m. as the grand tasting begins. Upon arrival, each taster will receive 25 sampling tickets. Each ticket will get you a 4-ounce serving of your choice from the 172 beers available.

With a selection of over 45 breweries, your taste buds are bound to be anything but let down. Accompanying these flavorful ales, lagers and ciders are over 37 beer representatives ready to serve and school you in Beerology 101.

Be sure to look for the debut appearances of Ohio breweries like Maumee Bay, Fat Head’s, Wooden Shoe and Listermann’s at this year’s festivities. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door. For those of you who enjoy having the upper hand in life, VIP tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. And if you haven’t heard, Cincy Beerfest raises thousands of dollars geared towards getting schoolchildren psyched about playing musical instruments. So do your part in helping the kids and sample your little heart out from 7:30-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Duke Energy Convention Center.
