Comedian Lisa Landry became a mom a few years back, but you won’t hear her talk about her son much on stage. “My kid is part of it,” she says, “but I don’t want to talk too much about him, because it’s not his fault he was born to a comedian. The kid’s already going to be screwed up. I’m saving for his therapy.” Her husband doesn’t escape so easily, however. “He was dating me when I was comedian, so he opted in.
‘Full disclosure, you’re going to be part of the act.’ But I am a mom and I probably shouldn’t even be able to have a cat.”
The family won’t be growing any time soon. “No, no, no — one and done,” she insists. “I can’t do that. And people pressure me, ‘Are you going to have another one?’ Let me make sure this one’s not a serial killer first. They start asking if you’re going to have more when you haven’t really done a good job on the first one.” Lisa Landry performs at Go Bananas in the Festival Market Place in Montgomery Thursday-Sunday. Tickets are $8-$12.
