The revitalization of Over-the-Rhine has become a symbol of our city's ability to come together and face a problem hand-in-hand. This Friday, Light Up OTR gives everyone another chance to join this movement to vivify the once-depressed area while simultaneously spreading holiday spirit. The goal is for volunteers to disperse 943 luminaries, representing the number of historic buildings in OTR, to symbolize safety, the coming of the holiday season and the good tidings it brings.
There will also be a 25-foot pine tree erected at Neon's Unplugged upon which guests and volunteers can affix an ornament for a $2 donation, which will go to the OTR foundation.
Afterward, join CityBeat reader-voted Best Bartender/Mixologist of 2010, Molly Wellman for drink specials and celebrate the great work done by volunteers and revel in the beauty of their accomplishments. If you wish to volunteer to help set up the event or luminaries, meet at Neon's (208 E. 12th St., Over-the-Rhine) at 6 p.m.
