The Brush Factory, Cincinnati’s retail and production outlet that pays homage to the arts & crafts movement with unique hand-crafted apparel and home goods, is celebrating its new Oakley storefront with an ice cream social — and a twist. This old-fashioned ice cream archetype gets a modern update by replacing the traditional dairy-based treat with vegan confections from Phro*ZEN, a vegan ice cream company run by local sisters Meg and Ellen Swallow
. Started with the belief that “everyone deserves happiness, and that happiness can be found in the simplest (and sweetest) things,” they’ve created a line of tasty vegan desserts (no animal products whatsoever) with flavors like chocolate peanut butter and raspberry chocolate chip. Outside of the Brush Factory’s social, Phro*ZEN is available at Park Vine. And for those of you with more dietary restrictions, the dynamic duo will soon be tackling a line of allergy-free treats. Clothes, ice cream, cocktails. Sounds good to me. 7-9 p.m. Friday at 3229 Madison Road, Oakley.
