Armor clad knights, warhorses, mud wresting, swordfights, mead horns, hatchet throwing, weapon forging, fire juggling and giant turkey legs are just a few things the Ohio Renaissance Festival has to offer. Every fall, the 30-acre fairgrounds in Harveysburg, Ohio is transformed into a 16th century English village that’s teeming with hundreds of costumed performers that treat attendees to over100 shows on 12 stages, including fan favorites like the Pirate Comedy Stunt Show and Full Armor Joust.
The festival hosts dozens of vendors who sell anything from medieval weapons and animal skins to handcrafted masks and locally made honey wine. Attendees can impress their friends by competing in a number of old school games that might not be acceptable anywhere else in public, like knife throwing and archery. Also, be on the lookout for the Queen and her parade as they make a circuit of the fairgrounds several times throughout the day.
The festival runs every weekend through Oct. 17. Hours of operation are 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. rain or shine.
