Events: Queen City Underground Tour

By Michael Vest · July 19th, 2010 · CityBeat Recommends

Cincinnati was once considered the Paris of the United States, and the 90-minute Queen City Underground: Bosses, Breweries, and Burials Walking Tour shows how Porkopolis came to be known as that. The tour goes through the Gateway District which was once home to over 130 bars, saloons, beer gardens and theaters that hosted icons like Charlie Chaplin.

Also, go underground to see a hidden burial vault and tunnels that were vital to Cincinnati’s brewing of beer. 10:30 a.m. every Saturday through October 30. Arrive 15 minutes before tour at MiCa 12V at the corner of Twelfth and Vine Streets. Tickets are $15, and can be bought online http://www.queencityunderground.com/tickets.html or cash only at the door.
