The Cincinnati Public Library’s book art exhibits are even more beautiful support for why real books, as opposed to their ever-muted cousins, ebooks, are superior. Two exhibits of handmade books are currently being displayed at the Main Library downtown.

Running through Sept. 6, BookWorks 11 showcases more than 20 handmade books crafted by local and regional artists, all demonstrating varieties of techniques in the classical and modern approaches of bookmaking.

Simultaneously, Marking Time: The Keith Kuhn Memorial Artists’ Book Exhibit is a juried exhibit presenting the stunning works of 50 artists from around the country, on display until Aug. 26. Indulge your inner bookworm for free.

Main branch hours are 1-5 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.

Go here for more information on Marking Time and here for BookWorks 11.
