This weekend it's time once again to celebrate and give gratitude for the best gift German immigrants brought to the area: goetta.

MainStrasse Village’s “Original” Goettafest is back for the 10th year and is sponsored by J.B.’s Barbecue. Come out and try the exciting food possibilities Goettafest has to offer this year, including Goetta Reubens, Goetta Chedda’ Cheese, Goetta Balls and Goetta Chili.

There might even be Goetta Fudge for dessert.

Besides the main attraction, there will also be games, rides, crafts, music and entertainment to enjoy as well as a pig roast on Saturday. The festival is set in the old-world atmosphere of historic MainStrasse Village in Covington, so if you have never tried goetta come out and get into the spirit.

Hours are 5-11:30 p.m. Friday, noon-11:30 p.m. Saturday and noon-9 p.m. Sunday. Free parking is available in the IRS parking lot at Fourth and Johnson streets.
