Hamilton County Parks District’s Passport to Beer event wants you to “Taste the Unexpected,” which should be interesting as one expects to taste beer at a beer tasting event. But perhaps their collection of over 25 summertime lagers, ales and porters from around the world will be infused with more than fermented grains and hops? The only way to find out is to put these beverages in your mouth, along with some mini cheeseburgers in paradise, mini hot dogs and deep fried pickle spears from “heavy hors d’oeuvres stations.” Featured breweries include Goose Island, Shock Top, Sierra Nevada and more.

Brewmasters from Anheuser-Busch and Samuel Adams Beer Company will be available to take your questions, along with reps from Rivertown, Great Lakes and more. Discuss different beers while you drink them out of your souvenir pilsner tasting glass, or pack up a few for $3 a bottle. The band 46 Long will provide live entertainment. Must be at least 21. Tickets are available pre-sale for $22.95 through June 7. A limited number will be available at the door for $25.95. 7-9:30 p.m. Mill Race Banquet Center, Winton Woods, 1515 W. Sharon Road.
