The breakfast options include a Killer Cajun omelette, stuffed with chicken breast, mushrooms, Monterey Jack cheese, onions and a “Santa Fe” dressing. At lunchtime, try a burger, any of their specialty sandwiches or salads.
Flair: Great place for morning breakfast meetings, as it’s a corporate reworking of a neighborhood diner. Coffee flows readily from large tureens to help jumpstart the brain. Flavor: Try the Goetta Avalanche, a true-to-its-name heap of goetta sure to fill you up. Mokka is also well known for their unique French Toast battered in corn flakes and topped with creme brulee cream and bananas. Features extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.
Flair: Always busy but rarely too crowded, with comfortable booths and laid-back staff. Located close to the Levee and all the excitement of Newport without the parking headache. Specials all week like $5 “U Call It” Thursdays (where every menu item is $5) you’ll have a reason to come in any time.

Original Pancake House
Flavor: You wouldn’t know it by stopping in, but there are more than 100 franchise locations of this restaurant. It is definitely not your average side-of-the-highway breakfast stop. All of their batters are made fresh daily in the kitchen and only high quality ingredients are used. Try one of their specialties, the Dutch Baby: a flaky and sweet egg-and-flour concoction that never disappoints. Thick-sliced bacon and vegetarian options add to the appeal.
Flair: Although there is almost always a line, the comfortable atmosphere and quick turnaround will keep you from feeling like you’ve waited too long.

Sugar ’N Spice
Flavor: Impressing guests for over 60 years with good old-fashioned home-cookin’, Sugar ’N Spice still makes some of the best pancakes, hash browns and omelettes around. You can get breakfast here all day or try some of the lunch items like Alotta Bull (1/2-pound roast beef sandwich) or the Red ’n Yeller (grilled cheese with tomato). But the Breakfast Burrito might just be what you’re looking for.
Flair: Squeeze into a small booth or scooch up to the counter in the plain and cozy space. Consider this a heads up: weekend mornings are busy!
