Friday Pick: Eagle to Squirrel

Come for the new CD, stay for the performance art

By Mike Breen · September 23rd, 2009 · MPMF

Eagle to Squirrel probably will be one of the more unique acts you’ll catch at MidPoint ... or most any festival, really. Also going by the fitting name The Eagle to Squirrel Variety Hour, the eclectic performance art/spoken word/Electronic/Jazz/ Hip Hop/Soul/Dance squad is releasing its debut CD, Werk, in conjunction with its Friday MPMF show at The Subway.

The band, whose enticing sonic stew brings to mind an ADD-afflicted Beck on a multi-media art bender, will also likely put on one of the more entertaining live shows of MPMF.

So come for the CD, stay for the performance.

Eagle to Squirrel also performed a raucous blend of experimental music, unique poetry and sensuous dance at the 2009 Cincy Fringe Festival. See the CityBeat review here.

EAGLE TO SQUIRREL play the MidPoint Music Festival at 10 p.m. Friday at The Subway Bar & Lounge. Buy tickets, check out performance times and get MPMF details here.
