On Final Friday at Ink Tank, you can catch the warm-up for Northern Kentucky University’s Saturday conference, “Voices from the Hills: A Celebration of Appalachian Writers.” Major Appalachian poets and writers will read their work in Ink Tank’s friendly domain, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Doors open at 7 p.m., with refreshments available and the Book Bank, the book store that handles only Cincinnati-area writers, open for browsing. New Ink Tank Co-Director Jennifer Washington is establishing informal Open Mic sessions for the other Fridays of the month. “We open the doors and see who comes in. Fridays are so lively down here, with people from all over, that we have all kinds of participation,” she says. So come this Friday to hear the Appalachian writers; come another Friday with your own writings. $2 donation.
