It’s that time of year again, in the dwindling days of summer, towards the end of August and beginning of September, when Oktoberfest season hits Cincinnati. Cincinnati’s oldest Oktoberfest is being hosted this weekend by the Germania Society of Cincinnati at Germania Park on Kemper Road in Pleasant Run. The Germania Society promises the most authentic Oktoberfest experience, with plenty of Wursts and Sptzle and Schnitzle and Strudel, pastries, cakes, cream puffs, and lots of Warsteiner beer and Jgermiester to drink.

FOX 19 Chief Meteorologist Steve Horstmeyer will serve as the Brgermeister and preside over the tapping of the keg. There will be multiple stages for entertainment, featuring live German music, Polka and dancing. The Jgermiester Girls will be there, too. For fun, there are log-sawing contests and the Sixth Anniversary Tug-of-War competition (it’s not too late to register your team!). 6 p.m.-midnight Friday; 2 p.m.-midnight Saturday; noon-10 p.m. Sunday.
