Preview: The Secrets Project

By Tom McElfresh · May 26th, 2009 · Fringe

"Keeping secrets affects our identities and our self-awareness,” says director-coordinator Lindsey Barlag.

The 60-minute Secrets Project was group-written by several Miami University students then nailed down into a performance script that “explores our humanity through secrets.” Five women and two men will do the revealing and exploring in Cincinnati.

In improvisation workshops, group members revealed and explored their own secrets than molded them into the script, which has already had a run in Chicago. Only two local performances during the final Fringe Weekend. “Keeping secrets can build us up,” Barlag says. “But it can also tear us down.”

Performed at New Stage Collective June 5-6 (see map of Fringe venues here)
