Preview: Empire of Feathers

By Julie York Coppens · May 26th, 2009 · Fringe

It’s a bummer growing up. “We get to an age where we think we have to become adults and put the toys away,” says Karim Muasher of Giant Bird, an internationally touring three-man troupe whose members ignored that impulse.

Empire of Feathers is an epic adventure in an alternate universe, crafted from the junk we all played around with in the basement as kids.

As CEO Archibald Manhattan escapes a world of industry and war in search of magic and beauty, the audience must join the game, helping the actors pull off the impossible. At any age, Muasher says, “It’s OK to lose yourself for a little while.”

Performed at Duveneck May 27, 30 and 31 and June 2 and 5 (see map of Fringe venues here)
