Manifest Gallery’s fifth annual Rites of Passage exhibition suggests that tomorrow’s artists are fascinated by people: their presence, their shadowy absence and even by their accouterments. For this lively and diverse gathering of soon-to-be or recent art-school graduates, the gallery presents 24 works by 14 artists from nine states, culled from over 700 works submitted from nearly 60 institutions.

Locally, artists from the College of Mount St. Joseph and Miami University made the cut; others come from additional Ohio colleges plus schools in Minnesota, Missouri, Oregon and elsewhere. Besides people, cupcakes and peanut butter cups make appearances, as well as amusement-park rides. 2-7 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and noon-5 p.m. Saturday through May 15.
