Events: Vote Early, Rock Late with The National

By Staff · October 15th, 2008 · CityBeat Recommends

The National and The Breeders come to Fountain Square to rally support for democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama and running mate Joe Biden. The National, along with local Democratic Party supporters Allan and Jennie Berliant and Scott Durban of Lightborne, have organized this event to promote "Change we can believe in." Speakers include actress Natalie Portman.

This free concert is meant to inspire voters.

The Hamilton County Board of Elections will be open late and concertgoers are encouraged to visit the Elections office to cast their vote. Shuttles will also be provided to transport people to the voting location.

The National singer Matt Berninger says why this concert is important here.

Mike Breen has the event details here, and Maija Zummo crushes on Portman here.
