Spring is in the air, and so are the aromas from some new spring menus. At The Palace (601 Vine St., Downtown, 513-381-6006) check out the Oxtail Ravioli appetizer with foie gras and port and the Lobster Pastilla entrée with spinach, mushrooms and a vanilla beurre blanc. ... The Hideaway (4163 Hamilton Ave., Northside, 513-542-2444) welcomes the season with additions that include Spicy Catfish with collard greens and a bacon vinaigrette and Vegetarian Tamale Pie stuffed with black beans, corn, tomatoes, onion, peppers and queso and served with dirty rice. ... The Reserve Restaurant and Piano Lounge (Newport on the Levee, 859-431-7373) is offering two special dinners: an Italian Family-style dinner and Prime and Wine. The Italian Family-style dinner is available every Sunday and includes family sauces from Bari, Italy, fettuccine alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs, Italian sausage with peppers, ravioli and more ($12.95 per person). Prime and Wine is offered every Monday night starting at 4 p.m. The dinner includes a 12-ounce applewood smoked prime rib, salad, potato, vegetable, dessert and a glass of wine ($25 per person). The regular menu will also be available on both nights. ... The B.R. Cohn Winery will host a winemaker dinner at the Party Source in Bellevue on Friday and a wine tasting on Saturday. The dinner will feature several of B.R. Cohn's quality wines as well as their gourmet vinegars and olive oils. The tasting will also feature BR Cohn Wines, olive oils and vinegars. The dinner is at 6 p.m. and costs $55, which includes a $12 Party Source gift card. The wine tasting is from 2-4 p.m. the following day and costs $20, which also includes a $12 Party Source gift card. ... The Polo Grille (5035 Deerfield Blvd., Mason, 513-701-POLO) is hosting a Summer Wine Tour to benefit The Patty Brisben Foundation in Mason on June 24. ... Newport Italianfest takes place June 12-15 along Newport's Riverboat Row between the Taylor-Southgate and L&N Bridges. Named a Top 20 event in June by the Southeast Tourism Society, Italianfest features authentic Italian food, live Italian music performed by entertainers from around the nation, a pizza-eating contest, a cooking contest, games, rides and fireworks. ... Bean Haus (1801 Race St., Over-the-Rhine) has opened at Findlay Market in the main market house. The shop offers a diverse menu of espresso, coffee and tea drinks, smoothies, frappes and an assortment of cookies, pastries, bagels and candies. ... Habanero Latin American Fare is now open at Newport on the Levee. The fast-casual Mexican restaurant with Latin influences is open 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-midnight Friday-Saturday. ... Other openings include a second Burrito Joe's location at the former Union Station Video Cafe and Carol's on Main at 825 Main St., and Uno's reopened in Anderson Township. ... The Marble Hill boutique and chocolate lounge in O'Bryonville has closed. Jeff Ruby's Tropicana at Newport on the Levee is closing June 30. Ruby will be focusing efforts on his new downtown restaurant-nightclub project with Bootsy Collins.
