Can't Forget Uncle Woody's

In last week's Swizzle guide to great bars in Greater Cincinnati, one of the city's true greats was inadvertently left out. Actually, due to an editing error we listed Uncle Woody's as having closed. It remains open, as thousands of UC students can attest to and celebrate.

Here's the writeup that should have appeared in Swizzle and does appear in the online version at citybeat.com. We apologize for our mistake. Uncle Woody's 339 Calhoun St., Clifton Heights, 513-751-2518

This is an old-school Bearcat pad that's been a second home to many UC students. Knowledgeable barstaff serve up a heap of microbrews and can advise on the accents and flavors that make each unique. The Scotch-style Dirty Bastard was a hoppy delight. Wood paneling covered with beer and liquor signs gives Woody's the feel of a classic lodge. More than 100 signatures on the men's room (called the Uncle's room) graffiti wall testify to the enduring charm. (Stephen Carter-Novotni)

Amenities: Darts; patio; TVs; jukebox; full dining menu
