Sounds Like a Music Festival

Use the tools, sound like Tool or be a tool

MidPoint Music Festival continues to go high-tech as the sixth version approaches, this year upgrading its web site to offer bands and festivalgoers as much information as possible.

When you land on mpmf.com, here are the fun tech tools to try out:

· SoundsLike Search Engine: The writeups for all 240 acts at this year's MidPoint (starting on page 37) have been entered into the MPMF search engine, and now you can find unknown bands to see based on your own musical tastes. Are you a U2 fan? You'll find several MPMF bands you're probably going to enjoy. Do you like Guided By Voices? Lots of acts are here to ckeck out. A Justin Timberlake groupie? Not so much at MidPoint for you.

· MPMF iPod Schedule: All of these writeups and the entire festival schedule can be downloaded to your iPod. It's easy and quick. Once you have the info on your iPod, you can plan your MPMF visits by club, by night and by band.

· Look, Listen and Participate: There are links galore to songs from previous MPMF compilation albums, to photos and video from past festivals, to entries from the MPMF Video Contest and to the MPMF blog and photo blog. Join in, or lurk.
