Steven Hubbell made his way to Vinyl from his hometown in Detroit six months ago after he and owners Roula David and Michael Spalding hooked up on Craig's List. The three are creating a flourishing Over-the-Rhine culinary empire with their latest endeavors, Jardin Wine and Tapas Bar -- a joint venture with Neon's Maureen Godshall which will open in mid-June -- and a sushi bar called Mixx Ultralounge in the former Jump Café space on Main Street that will open this summer as well.

CityBeat: Where did you eat your last great meal?

Steven Hubbell: Daveed's. We had the tasting menu -- it was fantastic!

CB: How are you going to change the city?

SH: By being responsible to the area and contributing back to the community. That's been a main goal at Vinyl -- to be responsible to the community. We're using more organic foods and supporting local suppliers and sustainable foods. We're also a member of the Slow Food Movement. It's all about sustainable agriculture, getting back to that by buying from farmers who are really responsible with the land and what people are eating.
