Don't miss an exhibition that offers the ideal combination of art and music. PUBLICO (1308 Clay St., Over-the-Rhine) presents Music Show: Contemporary Art, Design & Music, their newest exhibition that combines artists' work featuring some aspect of music, such as instruments or performance. In addition, it offers a showcase of music show posters and fliers. The artists represent a range of experiences, including a professor, musician, writer, sound artist and illustrator, among many others -- all with an interest in music and complementary subjects and skilled in various artistic techniques like silkscreen and magazine illustration. Publico has pulled together these artists from all corners of the world, one from as far away as the Netherlands. Speaking of terrific combinations, SYN GALLERY (2157 Central Ave., Brighton) opens it's next exhibition, Redesigning Movies, in collaboration with its first film festival, both of which kick off Saturday. The exhibition features designers from across the country redesigning their favorite movies into posters, which will then be displayed throughout the gallery. Paired with the film festival -- featuring artistic and experimental films from around the world, including films from Germany, Spain and Hungary -- this event is bound to be a highlight of Syn Gallery's season. Attendees will also enjoy the music of Diet Audio, 1000 Arms and Jet Kid Committee as part of the opening ceremony. Head to the GALLERY AT M. WILLIS FINE ART & DESIGN (3235 Madison Road, Oakley) for Layered Colors, the newest show by artist TRISH WEEKS. Formerly an interior designer, Weeks began her painting career in 1994, producing contemporary impressionistic paintings. Finding inspiration from her time in the Midwest and the Carolinas, Weeks translates her travel memories into subjects for her canvases. Her layers of vibrant color feature a depth and intensity that draw the viewer in, inspiring delight. Join the artist for the opening reception 5-9 p.m. Friday. Through November. ...

FUSION GALLERY (305 Fairfield Ave., Bellevue) reaches out to your ladies' group when they present ART of a WOMAN, a group exhibition featuring works created by local and regional women artists. All pieces are original and feature a variety of media, including photography, watercolor, acrylic and much more. The exhibition is Fusion Gallery's nod to a "Girls Night Out," so grab some girlfriends and get to the gallery for the opening reception 6-9 p.m. Friday, which is part of the First Friday Gallery Hop in Northern Kentucky.

Currently on view at the DESIGNSMITH GALLERY (1342 Main St.) is artist Neil Hartman's Baby Killers. While the name might raise eyebrows, the work does not; it's laden with rich, vibrant colors. As you pass by each work, it's hard not to whisper the word "bizarre." Each baby features bright red cherry lips, yet they're painted with different colored eyes that pierce you. Each baby is also equipped with different forms of weaponry ranging from spears to machine guns. Hartman's work, which is both unsettling and welcoming, has a unique flair. Continues through Nov. 11.
