Articulations: Inside Artists' Heads

Laura Hollis

Laura Hollis
When I sat down and began to think how to properly introduce LAURA HOLLIS, I admit I was challenged to find the exact. She's edgy, witty and all the while unassuming. Once you have the privilege of viewing her work and discussing her art, you will leave both affected and craving more. Check out five things that affect Laura Hollis.

Brutal honesty: I'm very opinionated and like to speak my mind. I'm passionate about art, education and our local art scene. I believe growth comes through conversation and constructive criticism.

My students: They truly inspire me. Each one has such a fresh perspective and unabashed enthusiasm. They remind me of the importance of inspiration and living life to the fullest.

My fiancé Michael: Michael has always been there for me. He is my backbone and source of sanity and overall mental health. He is an amazing guy in his own right, but he deserves a medal for years of endurance and patience with me.

Watching a good movie: Or any movie for that matter. Movies give me time to relax. It's the only mental downtime I get and, lucky for me, I'm easily amused.

Excellence: I expect it from my students and attempt to embody it in my own endeavors. In truth, it's not easily attainable, but the idea and the pursuit of excellence keeps me going.
