Articulations: Inside Artists' Heads

Jeremy Flick

Jeremy Flick
JEREMY FLICK is one of the hottest abstract artists working in Cincinnati. Coupled with his razor-sharp wit and an intense eye for abstraction, his work is anything but ordinary. Keep your eyes open and watch for his upcoming exhibitions with Enjoy the Arts and the Know Theatre Tribe. This week we learn about five things that motivate him.

Paint: There is something I love about this medium. I have not found another material that I love as much. There is something very real and immediate about it. I just love seeing what I can do with it.

The Studio: The studio is my space. Not only is it a place to work but also a place of discovery and experimentation with new ideas. I never know exactly what will happen.

Other Artists: The thing that made me want to be an artist was other artists. The raw passion towards art-making is inspirational to my work and me. I love seeing other artists pushing the limits of their medium.

Friends: You gotta have friends. I love having a circle of inspirational people to surround myself with. I learn so much from each of them.

Family: Art is not something that is very familiar to my family, but they have been extremely supportive in allowing me to follow my passion. Even though Mom might not understand, she knows that it's something very important to me.
