Damon Green

Not only is Damon Green one of the edgiest photographers in Cincinnati,
he's also a member of one of the hottest bands in town, The Minni-Thins.
His work (see some of it at
www.damongreen.net)
has the feel of a hard-edge documentary while also sharing a moment
with the viewer. Here are five of the many things that motivate
Damon Green.
Taqueria Mercado: I have discovered the greatest cheap meal in all of Cincinnati. I've been trying to convince the rest of The Minni-Thins to switch their allegiance away from Rio Grande, but their loyalty is steadfast. If only they would try the enchiladas.
Nikon D70: I just recently abandoned my trusty Coolpix 995 for a shiny new D70. I've never been more excited to take pictures. The first time I saw the results, my reaction was exactly this: "You mean I can shoot at the Northside Tavern without a flash?"
Super77: Hands down, this is my favorite local band to photograph. Beaming with energy and personality, they are everything that's fun about seeing and shooting live music.
The Southgate House: The place has an ambience unlike any other music venue in the country. It's an honor -- and a bit unnerving -- to play on the same stage as most of my musical heroes.
The Image1001 Crew: I met this group of photographers working on the Midpoint Music Festival photo squad. We had such a good time pushing each other that we've decided to collaborate year-round.
