One way that the Cincinnati Opera connects with broader audiences is by staging periodic Opera Rap programs on subjects that aren't exactly operatic, although one Sunday promises to be dramatic: ETHICS IN THE ARTS -- CENSORED! will be offered at 4 p.m. at the Contemporary Arts Center (44 E. Sixth St., Down-town). The program is co-hosted by the Opera and the Ethics Center of Hebrew Union College and the University of Cincinnati, and moderated by JOSEPH TOMAIN, dean of UC's College of Law. Opera Artistic Director NICHOLAS MUNI will be joined by four others: NANCY BERTAUX, who teaches at Xavier University; attorney and civil liberties activist LOUIS SIRKIN; CityBeat writer and Film Editor STEVE RAMOS; and PHIL BURRESS, president of Citizens for Community Values, who's publicly boasted about his organization's efforts to prevent CityBeat from being distributed at Cincinnati-area grocery stores. They're looking for a variety of "supers" (shorthand for "supernumeraries" -- extras who fill non-singing roles), including 70 men and women for The Emperor of Atlantis and The Maids (June 24 and 26). The Friday program features Cincinnati Opera's Muni and Ensemble Theatre's D.
